Trouble transferring data to Apple Newton 2000

I have a Newton MessagePad 2000, a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet with OS 9.2, and a MacBook Pro with Leopard. My main objective is to be able to transfer data to and from my Newton. For the Newton, I have a Farallon Ethernet card and the appropriate software for it installed, and the Newton Internet Enabler also is installed and enabled. On the Wallstreet, I have this IR application ( http://tools.unna.org/wikiwikinewt/index.php/IrDAPackageInstaller) which I have been toying with. I can get it connected to the Newton, but once I try to select a file to transfer, none of the .pkg files appear in the window on the Wallstreet. Also, I have an application on my MacBook Pro, NCX ( http://newton-connection-ncx.en.softonic.com/mac), which I have also been trying to use to connect the Newton, but I think that I can't do this just yet, because the manual for it tells me that I need to install the ethernet docking package that it comes with onto the Newton. But I can't get the ethernet docking package onto the Newton without connecting it.

So here I am, with a Wallstreet capable of IR communication and a MacBook capable of ethernet communcation, but neither of them can actually communicate with Newton. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks! Help is greatly appreciated.
