RAM/freezing and HD?

Hey all,

I up graded my RAM (2@2GB sticks) and had a bad stick. Process of elimination to figure out which one was bad. During this process my MBP froze 4 times.

- How bad is this?
- I ran disk utility each time. Do I need to run anything else? Hardware check?
- S.M.A.R.T. shows verified. What is this anyway??
