Can I replace my ipod nano 2nd generation with ipod nano 3rd generation.?

I bought an iPod Nano 2nd generation last year in June and the warranty lasts until June of this year 2008. I want to know if there is any way to upgrade to an iPod Nano 3rd Generation without paying for a whole new iPod. If my iPod is messed up or something, will they replace it with a 3rd generation iPod Nano, or another 2nd generation iPod Nano. Is there any way to get the 3rd Generation iPod Nano?

If they still have iPods in stock of the older generation, you will get one of these; the color may vary, but other specifications should be the same. If not, you will most likely get a current model.

You may want to find someone willing to purchase that iPod, and then put the money toward a current one.

You will get the newer version of your ipod nano that's equivalent in price. I just got my broken 2nd generation ipod replaced with the new 4gb video ipod nano

question;were you able to exchange your ipod for a newer version? I have the ipod nano 4gb and i noticed that they are no longer being sold. the classic ipod with memory of 80gb are now being sold cheaper than what i paid for and it has more than sufficient memory.

They do sell 4gb nanos still. They come in silver only. And I doubt they would give you a 80gb classic in exchange for your nano. If it were damaged somehow and covered by the warranty, they would either try to service it for you or replace it with an equivalent ipod (meaning another 4gb nano). So if you want the 80gb you'd have to purchase it.
