I can't see Guitar Rig inside of Logic

I can't see Guitar Rig inside of Logic

I'm trying to get GR working in Logic Express. I did the customized install for the Audio Units setup. When I go to Modify the guitar track and select Stereo-> Audio Units - I don't see Guitar Rig FX in there.

Also if I try to load a GarageBand project that had a track with a GR FX effect I get a message that says: CoreAudio: Plug-in "GuitarRig" not available

I'm using GR vers 1.2.0.004 and Logic Express 7.01.

Any help would be appreciated

Guitar Rig probably didn't pass AU validation. Go to Logic Express>Preferences>Start Logic AU Manager. If GR is not there, the install is incomplete, install again. If GR is there but unchecked, you should have a message telling you it failed AU validation. You'll probably need an update. You can always check it to force GR to load but you'll be more prone to crashes and you'll get a message every time you boot Logic to tell you you have unvalid AU...

Thanks for the reply. Yes GR failed AU validation. I do have the latest version of GR and Logic Express 7.01. What update are you referring to?

I'm not refering any update in particular. I just want you to make sure you have the latest version of both LE and GR. I see you're using LE 7.01. You should buy the 7.1 upgrade. Doesn't cost much and maybe could fix your problem. However, first step would be to check with NI support if they have any issues with Logic compatibility.

Found the problem.

Apparently the Audio Units plug in upgrade of Guitar Rig did not install the very latest file AU file. It is the GuitarRig.component file from December of 2004 and it should be placed in HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components. You can get try to reinstall the latest GR update or you can request the file from tech support.

Native Instruments has updated Guitar Rig to version 1.2.1 in order to improve Audio Units validation.
