efax viewer

Dears:

does anyone know how i can view .efx files which are e-fax documents. most of the softwares i found online are basically a whole suite that provides sending and receiving faxes. i am hesitant to install any of them as i only need to view this file extension and do not want to send or receive faxes using these softwares.
Preview (the built in viewer in mac) does not support these file extensions

thanks all

I used eFax on Windows for years & switched to Mac 11-2008 & D/L the Mac version.

It works just fine. You can then view any efx file type.

I already had a free account. Not sure that you need that if you don't want to be assigned a fax number.

If you do not already have a fax machine -- eFax is worth signing up for. When someone needs your fax number, you give them your 10 digit eFax fax number. From the sender’s perspective, they are just sending a fax. (It will be a long distance area code though) You then receive the fax as an EFX attachment in your email.

If you want a LOCAL area code fax number you need to PAY.

Downloads:

You want “eFax Messenger for Mac.”

I would try to D/L the program 1st w/o signing up. Then at least you should be able to read your EFX file.
