Trying to burn DVD to an external drive

I've been having problems with my G5's internal DVD drive, so I've been using a Memorex external. Programs like Popcorn recognize when I put blank media inside it, but DVD Studio Pro won't recognize it. It just wants me to keep putting a disc into my internal drive.

Is there a preference I can set so DVD Studio Pro recognizes the external drive? Or is there an overall preference to make the external my primary drive?

Please explain in simple terms too!

No, DVDSP uses the internal drive by default, but maybe you can select another drive in the format menu? Don't know - check it out.
If not, then format in DVDSP to an image file. Then burn the image using Popcorn(or Toast) using your Memorex drive.

Hi

As Olse pointed, you can try * Creating Disc Image in DVDSP * and burning in your external drive just using Disk Utility (or Toast if you have it!)

Besides that you can try if Patch Burn can help you.
