Ipod touch and iphone the same size ?

I am in Canada. Not a lot of iPhones up here to speak of (except mine, LOL) and of course NO accessories.

Will the iPod touch's screen protector work on an iPhone? Do they share the same physical dimensions to allow this to work ? There are screen protectors everywhere for the iPod. Would love to be able to use one until iPhone accessories are readily available up here...
