title safe overlays not showing up

For some reason my title/action safe overlays are not showing up over my video. It's strange though, because if the time code overlays are on as well, you can see the outline of the title/action safe lines in the time code box. It just doesn't show up over the video. Hopefully I'm explaining this sufficiently.

Anybody else ever run into this problem?

Thanks for the help guys, but I don't think I explained it clearly. I've posted a link to a screenshot below:

The title safe overlays are turned on in the frame on the left and turned off in the frame on the right. As you can see, the aqua colored lines are visible in the 1st frame, but only within the overlays for In, Out, Video and Audio. I've never seen this before as they usually cover the entire frame.

Odd behavior. Try trashing preferences and repairing permissions.

Close Final Cut Pro.

Go to: Users/your user name/Library/Preferences.

Drag, "com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist" to the trash.

Scroll down to the Final Cut Pro User Settings folder.

Drag, "Final Cut Pro 6 Preferences" to the trash.

Drag, "Final Cut Pro Obj Cache" to the trash

Drag, "Final Cut Pro POA Cache" to the trash.

Go to: Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

Select your system disk

Click on the Repair Permissions button

Restart your computer
