Only since installing Leopard, my desktop icons move to different positions each time I wake up my MacPro after a sleep. I generally have them in a column on the right hand side of the screen but after the computer sleeps and wakes up, they will show up in the center of the screen. I have tried every setting in View Options and still the same problem. Before upgrading, I was using Tiger and never had this problem. Any ideas?
If I put the computer to sleep manually, the icons do remain in place. However, going to a hot corner to activate the screen saver still brings up a black screen and not the screen saver.
I have discovered that I can't get any screen saver to work. Maybe the problem is related to icons moving around.
Should be noted that I have a 42" Toshiba LCD for a monitor. It has worked great for a year and perfectly on Tiger. Only since going to Leopard have I noticed these display problems.
There's an AppleScript called Desktop Icon Manager that can help with this. I find it useful because I use an external monitor at work that has more desktop "real estate" than the screen built in to my MacBook Pro.
