can iwork do it like word does??

I am new to iwork......i don't know how to capitalize the first letter of each sentence? also automatically capitalize "I"....can iwork do it??? it's pretty annoying to hold shift to capitalize every first letter of every sentence.

You should try spellcatcher (http://www.spellcatcher.com). That has many customizable auto correct features. Pages itself doesn't do autocorrection.

Methink the OP refers to the MS Word feature that Capitalizes the first letter in a sentence automatically.

Pages does not offer that feature. Very annoying indeed, as is typing all the text myself.
