Can't burn cds on my MacBook Pro

I have a new MacBook Pro that I bought just a couple of months ago. Today I opened iTunes and tried to burn a cd, but I got a message saying disc burner or software not found. Shouldn't the burner and software already be installed? How do I fix this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.3)

The problem is everywhere. I tried to burn a disc for the first time using Itunes and it just stopped in the middle. As I went through the forums realized that all the upgraded i tunes to 7.6 and over cannot handle a single cd burning. There is at the moment no way of making sure that you will complete a cd burn. Try using another burner such as Toast Titanium(purchase it through internet or download a demo version) that will definitely get the job done. Unless the songs you want to burn are purchased via I tunes. If this is the occasion then you are in the same position with me. Start looking at ebay prices for "never used" or "like new" MacBook Pro to get the best price that you can!
