Anyone know the 3 digit code for the Sony (RM-YD017) remote to control the Apple TV?

and/or the code for the DirecTV remote (RC64R).

Hoping that we can use one of our "larger" remotes as the tiny Apple TV remote will get lost before the 11 o'clock new

Powerbook 17", Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    Sorry; don't know the codes.

But faced with similar issues I got a Harmony remote and now have a nice plastic bag in my closet filled with the unused controls for my TV, AV receiver, DVD player, VCR, cable box and TV.

With only 3 digits, there's only 1000 possible combinations ....

The manual for my universal remote lists thousands of these codes, I suspect that I'd have to do some research into the IR mechanism in the ATV to narrow it down somewhat. Took me over 50 attempts to find the correct code for my older Sony TV.

    Thx all very much..

Have sent the question to both the Apple and SONY sites and really disappointed that neither have given us a simple answer.

Apple TV is good and would be GREAT! if it could be controled by our all-in-one and/or TV (Sony) remotes.

Have already lost the tiny Apple TV remote many times in the sofa and under the chairs.

I don't think you can used that remote to teach and learn for atv @ all.you need a remote with more option to teach, learn and im using the old remote made by sony RM-AV2000 works fine .....
you need a remote control that can teach,program,learn...... ,but look around 1st before you buy
