Can I make ARD login more secure using for example Mac Address?
I am wondering if it is possible to make ARD more secure by allowing for example only registered user to log in or like in airport only registered Mac addresses. Anybody have a clue how to do this or a suggestion along these lines?
I do have only one user selected so that is in order, I was looking for a more secure setting, hence the idea about Mac addresses. this would only allow one computer to connect because it would seek Mac address clarification. so my hope was there would be a similar way to protect from unauthorized access.
Unless everyone you know has a copy of the ARD admin application installed, and they know the admin username and password for each, then I wouldn't worry about unauthorized access.
Someone would have to first break into your network.
Then they would have to have Mac
Then they would have to have a copy of ARD admin
Then they would need the admin name and password on each client.
Unless your network is that easy to crack then I think you're worrying too much.
