Unable to install drivers on Windows XP

Hi guys,

I have successfully installed WinXP Home edition (SP2) on my Macbook. However, when I try to install the drivers via the control panel, it cannot find the drivers from the Mac OS X Install Disc 1&2 that I am provided when I bought my Macbook (My CD-ROM drive is working fine) - when I browse the CDs' content, disk1 contains files for installing Boot Camp on WinXP while disk2 has no content.

I manage to obtain and successfully install the video driver from the Intel website, but I am unable to locate the WiFi driver, will someone please enlighten me on how I can obtain the drivers from my Macbook.

I am running Leopard OS 10.5.3 and Bootcamp 2.0.

Thanks and really appreciate !

Macbook (Black), Mac OS X (10.5.3), 2.4GHz

In theory you boot to Windows and shove in your OS X disk and the rest just happens (nothing is in Control Panel).

In real life there are updates! No disk needed.

So - Boot to Windows, open this page http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/bootcampupdate21 forwindowsxp.html

Then click 'download' (not 'buy' - it's free) A file appears and you save it to desktop then open and install. Voila - newest drivers.

Even though I have Leopard now, until yesterday I have been using the drivers CD I made last year with bootcamp beta - as well I have been using the same XP install I made 6 months ago using Tiger! Yesterday I shoved the Leopard install disk into my machine (while in Windows) and the drivers re-installed almost automatically. Next I installed the drivers update (link above). No problems. I use XP SP2 and I recommend you AVOID SP3. SP2 is great as is. SP3 has a Vista type Firewall (which treats you like a child).

In other words, it's all good - go for it....

Edit - the updated BootCamp drivers (the linked page above) is needed if anyone intends to perform the XP SP3 upgrade. You need the Apple update first (to avoid issues).
