Hi all,

I've just started testing Pages, and am trying to create our company stationary.

My question is: how can I use one header (company info + logo) on the first page, and a different one on subsequent pages (page number + info)?

Hope you can help!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Lianne

You can insert a section break ant the end of page one & uncheck "Use previous headers & footers" in the Section tab of the layout inspector.

A better choice is to use this same tab & check "First page is different" which will suppress headers & footer on the first page & use a text box to hold the header for the first page.

    Hi Peggy,

Thanks for your quick response. I tried the first option, which works perfectly!

Any particular reason you consider the second option a better choice?

    Thanks again!

If you have text that flows from page 1 to page 2, inserting a section break may end up being in the middle of a paragraph. If page 1 is essentially a separate document, a section break will work. Usually, the different first page is for a title page or a letterhead. It's the way I've done it in AppleWorks for years. When I first did it, it was difficult to get section settings to change correctly.
