Apple Studio Display 17" CRT (clear enclosure)

So, I know now that the ADC-DVI adapter doesn't work with an apple studio display crt. It doesn't supose to work since my fastastic display is not digital.

So my question is: What do I do now?

1. I just have to get rid of it?
2. Is it possible to put an ADC plug into a computer?
3. Is it possible to plug my [ADC into a VGA] =plugedto= [VGA to DVI]? no, because I need the electricity power.
4. So what if I put [my display ADC-M] = [ADC-F to DVI-M adapter] = [DVI-F to VGA-M] = [VGA-M to DVI-M] = [DVI-F my computer]
5. ?

Simplest option.
2. Is it possible to put an ADC plug into a computer?

No. (Except for some Power Mac G4 or G5 modeles.)
3. Is it possible to plug my [ADC into a VGA] =plugedto= [VGA to DVI]? no, because I need the electricity power.

You would need to get the power from somwhere.
4. So what if I put [my display ADC-M] = [ADC-F to DVI-M adapter] = [DVI-F to VGA-M] = [VGA-M to DVI-M] = [DVI-F my computer]

No. Still no power.

The Gefen DVI to ADC adapter
<http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1203>
is supposed to pass though the analog video signals (unlike the Apple adapter), but (like the Apple adapter) does not provide enough power for a CRT display. I saw a report saying it worked, but the power supply got VERY hot. If you replace the power supply with a 24 Volt (or 28 Volt), 5 Amp, DC power supply, it should work. (The Gefen adapter had been discontinued, but it seems to be back on their web site.)
