I'm wanting to upgrade the RAM in my MacBook. The website I'm wanting to buy it from asks what generation the laptop is, I'm assuming its a different type of RAM. What's the easiest way of finding this out? I bought the laptop in October 2006 (UK). Any ideas? Sorry if its really obvious and not worthy of its own topic...
MacBook 2Ghz, MacPro Dual Core 2.66Ghz x 2, Mac OS X (10.5.1), Logic Pro 7.2.3
If About This Mac says it is a Core Duo then it is the first generation MacBook and can address 2GB of RAM. If it says Core 2 Duo then it is the second generation MacBook (introduced November 2006) and can address 3GB of RAM. The RAM spec is the same in either case.
