If your podcast is not appearing - add your details here

From reading various threads it seems that lots of us are having problems getting our podcasts listed. I'm one of those whose podcast was listed as 'already submitted' but has not yet appeared in the directory.

There seem to be numerous 'theories' out there as to the reasons behind some of us not being listed. Can I suggest that anyone who cannot get their podcast listed (lets say you've been waiting several weeks) adds their details to this thread - as we gather more examples maybe we can work out what the issue is.

Suggest we leave the following info - location & podcast feed address as a minimum (can anyone else think of other useful info to gather?)

I'm based in the UK & my feed is at www.jamcasting.com/podcast/feed.xml

Cheers
Jim

That other thread you referred to looks like it's mainly for those that had an existing podcast that was dropped from itunes. I fall into the category of the "black hole" where it's been over a week since I submitted my properly formatted feed (from feedburner) and I don't have a clue of when -or- even if, it gets posted into itunes. I wish there was a conservative timetable that Apple would establish so we would at least know how long to wait. Does anyone know if you get notification if it is denied or accepted?
Thanks!

I am also waiting for my podcast to appear in Itunes. I submitted it 8 days ago and assume that there is a technical reason why it has not progressed although as far as I know it is working correctly.

It would be really useful to know whether it is just stuck in a very long queue or has been rejected and will never appear - and if so why.

I am based in the UK and my feed is

All the best,

I'm in the same boat. I tried to submit our feed on the very first day iTunes 4.9 was released, and it said that my podcast was already submitted. At first I thought, "Cool! We were included with the initial import of podcasts!" But now it's still not showing up. I know tons of people who have started new shows and had them up in the directory within days.

This is beyond aggrivating.

We added our feed on the first day of iTunes podcasting support but have never shown up. I continue to try and tweak the feed to encapsulate as many of the iTunes tags as possibe. The Feedvalidator.org likes my feed, so I have no clue why we can't get this posted. I have opened many support tickets with Apple and always get the (24-72 hour repsonse time email back) and when they finally do respond they just point me to the SPEC.. Here is our feed:

Thanks for starting this thread, Jim.

I'm based in Trinidad & Tobago and my podcast feed is feeds.feedburner.com/CaribbeanFreeRadioBlog

From the day iTunes launched its podcasting feature my feed was listed as having already been submitted. I understand iTunes did get its initial podcast list from iPodder.org and I've been listed there since March.

The more I read, the more I feel that Apple is incapable of providing a good service for listing Podcasts, either for reasons of suposed censorship or a system that can't maintain listings because of bugs. Whichever of these two reasons, I think that most of us need to concentrate on other directories, and encourage people to avoid iTunes for Podcasts, until Apple can provide an improved relationship with Podcasters.
