Artists names with "the" at beginning

Artists names with "the" at beginning

My iPod video now lists all artists with names beginning with "The" under T when previously the iPod ignored the "The" like iTunes does. Does anyone know how to switch it back?

In the recent versions of iTunes, you can attribute sort settings to the songs' IDE tags. Select the band beginning with "The", *right click*, go to *Get Info*, go to Sorting, and remove the "The" from the Sort Artist.

The problem went away when I synced again, but reappeared today when I synced once more. When I sync a second time it again disappears - strange.

I did check the sorting criteria in iTunes when I had the problem and saw that none of the bands beginning with "The" included the "the" in the sorting criteria, so that's not really the issue.
