Whenever I scroll around or browse my R, S, or T albums my Touch exits the album view and returns to the Home page. I've updated it, charged it, and it keeps happening continuously. I got the iPod about 3 days ago, and it's never been dropped, damaged or anything. I haven't even listened to it yet. Does anyone know what's going on?
Actually, now its started to happen about 30-45 seconds after I've started scrolling, regardless of what album section I'm in. I've tried to scroll slower because I thought it might be a memory overload, but that didn't help either.
It happens to me to. Usually it happens when I on wi-fi, playing a web app game, but it has happened to me on the music when I am going through it looking for a song. Hopefully the update will fix that. It could be a Safari think if are looking for a song in iTunes on wi-fi on your iTouch.
This happens to me when using Safari. It's extremely annoying when it happens during the middle of filling out a form on a web page. Certain sites seem to be very prone to this problem. For example,
http://www.eonline.com/ is one where I can't look at their home page for 15 seconds before the iPod touch returns unbidden to the home screen.
This is a totally unacceptable problem. What is the remedy?
This has just started happening to me, but so far only with Safari. I've been to a number of sites and on all but one of them the screen goes black all of a sudden and then the home screen comes up.
This happened to me also...last night I was messin around in maps and all of a sudden my touch returned to the home screen....it freaked me out because this device wasn't cheap and I hope a fix comes real soon...:)Other than this my touch works perfectly...:)
I've just begun encountering the same problem also. I'll be on a web site
and all of a sudden for no apparent reason the screen goes blank and the home
screen comes up.It's become very annoying since it happens way too often. The
battery is charged, the browsing history is cleared. It's done it for several days and at several locations. It seems to be the ipod and not the internet connection.
Please if anyone has any insight please post it here. Thanks, Scott
Safari has become completely unusable. I thought it was my default home page, but Yahoo and the iPod Touch page on the Apple web site slowly complete their load, and even if I do noting Safari crashes back to the iTouch home screen.
YouTube crashes, but less often than Safari.
*Music Player* becomes extremely unreliable in cover flow mode, but has been well-behaved as long as all I do is select a play list, shuffle it, play music, and never flow covers in cover flow (I can view it, but nor touch it).
Any of these crashes has the potential of dropping the history of play count increments and last played dates.
I've restored the firmware at least twice, with no improvement.
So my fancy, many-featured and expensive iPod Touch can only be really used to play music...as long as I do so
carefully.
If I ever get the time, I'll put a call in to Applecare...
+You could try a reset, but I don't have a lot of hope that will fix this.+
+Hold the Home+Sleep buttons until it reboots to the white Apple logo - ignore the shutdown prompt.+
+Once rebooted, does it work any better?+
Now I don't know how long this will last, but I must say Safari has worked longer for me just now than it has in weeks!
Thanks for posting the solution to my problem. The reboot cured the problem
of dropping the internet and going to home screen! Never thought a reboot would
cure a problem of that type. THANKS AGAIN! Scott
