Quote at top, reply at bottom

I'm probably slightly blind but how can I get Mail to stop inserting an empty line before the reply and put the insertion point there. I don't like top posting and would like to have the quoted text at the top and then my reply below it ... there has to be an option somewhere but I can't find it

There is no option for this in Mac Mail. I'm not sure what the etiquette is on this. You do have to remember that email is not a bulletin board or forums. In my mind, if I am replying to an email, and quoting text, the original sending of that text has already read it (since they were the producer of that content).

Of all the mail I receive, I would guess that over 95% of quoted text are below the new content.
