PB 3400c dead pram-battery?

Hi all!

I got issue with my 3400c. When i unplug the AC-power and take the main battery out and plug them back, date is reset to year 1904 and time isn't right. Am i having time machine on my hands? Or is it just dead PRAM-battery?

Apple Macintosh PowerBook 3400c, Mac OS 9.1.x, ext. 3gb scsi -hd, ext. zip-drive

Almost certainly the PRAM battery is bad.

Thank you guys. I looked that link Bennet-Alder sent and went on that check list. Recharged for 6 hours without main battery inside. Then 10 min without any power (ac or main battery) and when powered on, time showed am 5:36 while it's am 1:33 here in finland and date was 6th February on year 2040. I think i'm going to change it. Found one instruction for it. Next i'm going to ask for batteries at local mac reseller if they have any 😀 if not, i've already found couple of stores at internet that have one.
