I need help with Canon fs11

Hi, i recently bought a canon f11, since we are in the year 2008 and apple has been such a success, i completely forgot to check if the camera was compatible with apple, and apparently is not. It comes wit h 2 CD's with software for mixing and downloading to the computer. One of them works for mac and the other one doesnt, but it doesnt let me download the video to the computer. The computer doesnt recognize it when i plug it in. Does anybody knows how i can do this without having to use windows on parallels?

These type of cameras use a highly compressed DELIVERY format, Mpeg 2.
Editing formats are different and need to be converted before most NLEs (non linear editors) can work with them.

This free application can convert the files and you will have to purchase the Mpeg playback component from Apple (around $20).
Using iMovie 6 Streamclip's DV option should work the best.
