Question

Moving sections of songs a la Garageband

s there a way to move "sections" of songs each having many tracks and regions. I.E. in Garageband you can label an entire section of music verse 1 then another section chorus 1. Then if you want to swap sections all you have to do is move the 2 markers and all the corresponding track/regions move with it. It seems that in order to this in Logic, I constantly have to highlight large amounts of tracks/regions and continually drag back and forth. I know you can move the markers but the corresponding regions don't move with them. What would be the easiest way to achieve this. Appreciate the help!

Sure you can do this with: "cut/insert time" from the edit menue. Check the availbale functions - very helpful for arranging indeed. Make sure to move/delete the automationalready written onto the tracks - otherwise you'll run into trouble. For automated Busses/Auxes create Arrange tracks and put some empty regions onto them - then the automation of those Busses/Auxes will also get moved/cut.

One way to do this rearranging type of thing is to pack the entire project into a folder. This folder can then be cut up and the regions moved around any way you like. When you are happy with the new song structure, unpack the tracks.

Save the project before you start, tough...
