Uninstall my Jam Packs and Garageband?

If I uninstall Garageband from my Mac, will all the Jam Packs be deleted as well? I've searched the issue a few time here in the past, but this simple question wasn't answered directly and it seems like a complex issue.

If uninstalling Garageband doesn't get rid of all my jam packs, can you please refer me to the best method to do this. The only other audio program on my Mac that I use is Soundtrack Pro, and I don't want to delete anything belonging to that program on accident.

Thanks

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 3 gigs ram - 2.4 duo

If you just take Garageband from the Applications folder and put it in the trash, all of the Jam Packs and other content will still be there. That's only going to give you back a couple hundred megs though.

If you want to delete content, the Jam packs are contained in HD/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Jam Packs. If you want to uninstall some of the sampler content, which takes up the most space as it is mostly aiff files, then you'll find it in HD/Library/App Support/Garageband/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files.

HOWEVER, Logic uses this sampler content too, and if you use any of the Channel Strip Settings on Instrument Tracks, or use the EXS24 much, chances are you'll start getting 'file not found' error messages. Garageband and Logic share a lot of content, so delete at your own risk.

If you want to be through about deleting Garageband, use a program called AppZapper to get all of the receipt and preference files too. Make sure to DESELECT the folder 'Apple Loops for Garageband' and the folder Garageband that has the path Library/App Support/Garageband, as these contain some of the content mentioned above. But all of the receipts, docs, and preferences you can dump.

Good Luck!
