Mouse Feels Off And Uncomfortable

I don't see a specific form for the mouse, but you could probably just choose the type of Mac you are using and file a detailed report listing the problems you are having and what you are using your mouse to do (I'm sure graphic artists use a mouse quite differently than a musician).

Like I said, the Mighty Mouse does require holding and moving the mouse in ways that are different from most other mice. Some people love it, others change to 3rd party mice that may work in a more familiar way or have even more features and buttons, others just go get the mouse they were using with a PC. Some users should not be using a mouse at all for production work, as is the case of graphic artists who should invest in a nice pressure sensitive tablet. No product can be the best for everybody but you have an almost unlimited choice of substitutes.

I'd say that how the Mighty Mouse feels is a personal preference and some people don't feel that it fits their hand like they are used to. I've also found that people seem to not want to use a mouse pad because the optical mice will work without one, but I find they still track better if you use a pad. If you've already made the adjustments in the Mouse prefs and you still don't get the feel you want, then you can try somebody else's Apple Mouse to verify that it's the design and not your mouse.

Many of my clients adapt to it in a couple of days, others just change to their old mouse, or in my case, the Kensington Trackball.

The right-click motion on a Mighty Mouse is fairly subtle, and the scroll wheel button can distract you at first. The good news is that you don't have to use Apple's mouse at all.

I've also had at least one client not care for the new aluminum keyboard, which I do like. Same answers as above.

You can change the movement of the mouse and curser by going to System Preferences/Mouse. You can fool with the tracking speed, curser speed, etc... and maybe your feelings will improve. 🙂

I don't think this is a wide spread issue, I have a few of the Mighty Mice, and I don't see anything unusual about them or inaccurate. There are many adjustments you can make, and a lot of times it's just a matter of getting used to them.

You don't have to use it, as a usb mouse is a usb mouse - I actually prefer a Trackman Wheel for most of my work, on my primary computer, just because of the thumb ball, and it's faster to use - I have three of those as well. I use a Mighty Mouse or Wacom Tablet for Photoshop, and the Mighty Mouse is accurate enough for that.
