Since I have updated my iMac with the Combo Update to Mac OS X 10.5.3 iTunes is no longer synching my addresses from the addressbook.app to the iPhone. Everything else like calendar, photos, music etc. are synched fine, as far as I can see. Only new addresses and address changes since the update are irgnored!
- Deleting the backup within iTunes -> doesn't help
- Repairing the access rights -> doesn't help
- Re-installing the combo update 10.5.3 -> doesn't help
- Deleting plist files from addressbook.app and the PreferenceSync.xml from library -> doesn't help
- Re-installing of iTunes 7.6.2 -> doesn't help
- Deinstalling of the iPhone SDK -> doesn't help
I'm getting crazy! The fact is:
I can not synch addresses between iTunes and iPhone (and also my iPod Touch!) in both ways!
Even when I create a new address group in the addressbook.app, the group won't appear within iTunes!
Could it help to re-install the addressbook.app? And how should I do that from the Leopard DVD?
I hardly need someone to help me with this strange problem, because there is no possibility to contact the support (in Germany) by mail.
I installed the update (10.5.3) as soon as it was made available but just discovered this sync problem with only address book. Frustrating! Help anyone?
- Overwritten addressbook.app with an older version (only 10.5) from another Mac -> doesn't help
- Trying to install combo update 10.5.2 -> not possible
- Clearing the synch cache within iSync -> doesn't help
- Moving synch data files to a backup folder -> iTunes then doesn't know any information from address book or iCal
- Repairing access rights again -> iTunes is still blind in "info" tap while synching
- Reinstalling of iTunes -> iTunes is still blind
- Synching iPhone -> iPhone hung up and restarting
- Synching again -> iTunes, while blind, pops up the message, if "AppleMobile Sync" should get access rights -> I choose "allow always" -> in the background all informations (address groups, iCal calendars, mail accounts) in the iTunes "info" tap are displayed again -> iPhone synching
But again, new addresses, address changes and even address groups made resp. edited since the update to 10.5.3 won't synch between iTunes and iPhone in both ways 😟
Isn't there a Apple specialist who could help? Or is there an address where one can report bugs? Because this is a strange but major bug!
