Creating 2 separate buttons instead of table cell

Hi,

I wonder how can I create a custom table cell like in contacts applications where instead of one cell you see 2 separate buttons on the same row? In my case I need to create 2 buttons instead of single row in the state of editing.

did you try making a different cell type with a transparent background that contains two buttons?

Thanks for reply. Yes, I did, not with buttons, but with text. When I make the cell transparent it doesn't draw it subviews either or somehow pass them this transparent parameter and they become transparent also.

Sorry but where do you see 2 separate buttons instead of a simple row in contacts.app. Do you have a different Contacts.app than mine or I misunderstood ?

I am trying do do something like this. A segmentedcontrol-like UI done with buttons. It replaces a table cell, with the same metrics and drawing style a cell has. I had to subclass the cell and the background view so if there is a more simple method, I am interested.

Get to the end of the info of some contact. You will see in the end 2 separate buttons on the cell row:
Text Message and Add To Favorites. Or you can see it on the top of the contact info when you press edit, you will see, that the icon on the top become to be a button, which when pressed brings you to an image picker and alongside lays a what seems to be a cell, which when pressed brings you to a screen, where you can edit the contact name... I can't figure out how do they do that. No sample gives a clue...

I can't be 100% sure, obviously, but I suspect the Contacts.app is using the tableFooterView to add two buttons of type RoundedRect.

Seems, that you're 100% right. I tried it and that's it! On the top they're using tableHeaderView and on the bottom tableFooterView. Thank you very much for open my eyes. I just wonder why there is no documentation on this and people have to spend hour on research instead of just coding?
