why doesn't my album artwork show?

Question

why doesn't my album artwork show?

last night i turned on my iPod, only to see that all my album artwork had disappeared! i had used my ipod earlier in the day and it had been fine, then connected it to the computer and it was all gone...i'm confused, shouldn't the computer fix the problem? please help

HP Pavilion dv6000, Windows Vista, laptop

i tried a soft reset too...is my only option a restore?

Is the software on the Touch up to date - 1.1.4?
If so, you likely have to restore - but don't use the backup when the process begins, use as a "new iPod"
If your software is older, try updating first.
