Is MacBook display HD capable?

Hi,

I just wanted to know if the screen or display of MacBook is capable of displaying HD content? And if it is, which format: 480p, 720p, or 1080p?

Thanks.

Black MacBook 13" 2.4, Mac OS X (10.5.3)

The MacBook tech specs are listed here:
http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs.html
"Supported resolutions: 1280 by 800 (native), 1152 by 720, 1024 by 768, 1024 by 640, 800 by 600, 800 by 500, 720 by 480, and 640 by 480 pixels at 16:10 aspect ratio; 1024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio; 720 by 480 pixels at 3:2 aspect ratio
Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 1920 by 1200 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors"

The HD numbers refer to the vertical resolution required.

480p is not considered HD.

I am not sure if the built-in optical drive can read BlueRay/HD DVD media, although you can buy/rent/download HD content from the internet, or maybe use an external USB/FW BlueRay/HD optical drive, not really sure, there's another thread about that here:
