audio clicking/popping during streaming video

audio clicking/popping during streaming video

I just started noticing recently that when I watch high-quality streaming video on the internet (vimeo, etc.) the audio annoyingly clicks and pops. It happens in any browser i use. I assumed this was an issue i read about with the latest airport update and programs like logic pro, but I haven't read about people having problems with streaming video. what should i do about this?

mbp, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

does it come from the righter part of the keyboard. Because I to noticed this if thats what you meen. It seems to happen mostly when streaming videos and on youtube. Then sometimes when scrolling or moving a scrollbar like in itunes.

no, this is definitely from the speakers. it basically sounds like the computer is working too hard and the audio can't keep up. I have noticed that it happens in other audio applications i use as well, such as max/msp.

I tried following instructions to revert to the previous airport update, but it hasn't seemed to solve the problem.

I'm having the same exact problem--it's more than a mild annoyance, and I can't seem to find any solution. Streaming Internet audio (YouTube, movie trailers, etc.) clicks and pops as it struggles to keep up. I'd normally guess that this is a system resources issue, but my MacBook Pro has 4G of RAM and a 2.2Ghz Intel Duo, and it occurs even when I'm not running any other apps...

I am also having this issue, just a question is everyone here using tiger, or are Leopard users also having the problem?

I'm using Tiger. I think there's a bigger thread on this issue somewhere, but I don't have the link handy. Search "pop" and you'll find it.

Still no real answer, though.

I too am having this issue.

While it is annoying with Vimeo and YouTube, it is downright unbearable when running Parallels (Adobe Audition). I am very interested in a solution if anyone has one.
