Saving/recalling multiple mixes?

Is there some way that I could create different mixes of a project and recall those easily? I know that I can of course save a project with a new name for each new mix and do it that way but that is a little too much. What I would like to do is be able to save several different mixes/fader setting within ONE project.

TIA!

New file names is the only way to do this.

In Logic 8, the trick is to save the new song file name WITHOUT assets checked, so all the audio files don't copy themselves into a new audio files folder. That's where things can get to be a real mess if you're not careful about that aspect...

One of my most requested features. Wouldn't it be cool if the mixer page allowed you to save several automation "takes" or mix alternatives, similar to the tempo 'alternatives' list in the global tracks.

I've fired that suggestion off into the LFBH (Logic Feedback Black Hole) many times. Apple has kindly responded with a subtle blend of silence and indifference. I'm optimistic.

Wow. I am really surprised that this can't be done in Logic in 2008. Seems like it would be easy to implement that feature. Where do I request/suggest this?

This is yet another example of how Logic is dropping the ball when it comes to the needs of mix engineers. They seriously don't have a clue as to what's required to do that job effectively...
