Active window flickering

Whenever Finder tries to generate icon previews (even if the Finder windows is in the background) the active windows flickers and looses focus.
This is most noticeable when a folder with several large files is open. I think this happens after 10.5.3 installation.
Is anybody else having this problem?

I have found a solution to this problem (depending on your setup it may help)...

*1. Open System Preferences*
*2. Open Flip4Mac WMV*
*3. Click on the 'Player' tab*
*4. Click the 'Reclaim' button, to reclaim playback from other players.*

Obviously this works only if you have Flip4Mac installed. I progressively went through every system preference setting making one change at a time until I happened upon this solution. I am assuming that something in the 10.5.3 update (or similar) was conflicting with Flip4Mac.

I've been having the same problem.

At first it was just with Finder Windows, then it started happening in Safari, Mail, and other apps.

I tried the Flip4Mac trick, but it didn't work.

Any others having these issues?

("Active Window Flickering" is a good way to describe it. I had been having problems finding a thread because I wasn't sure how to describe the problem. Has anyone found other threads on the same topic? Maybe with a different way of describing what is happening?)

I have this problem for 5 months already, this annoying flickering active window problem. Sometimes it gets very bad.
4 Months ago I created a new user and deleted the preference files... and it stopped for one month. It slowly started again. FlipforMac did not solve the problem. Creating a new user again? I don't think this is a right solution. I called Apple support and they directed me to this post. Oh well...

I think I solved the problem. Here are the steps:
1. I created a new user ADMIN
2. I logged out and started a s anew user
3. I restarted computer and logged into the old user

The flickering is gone. Maybe it will come back again one day, and I will have to do this procedure all over again, or maybe someone will find a permanent solution by then.
