You can download System 7.5.3 from Apple (for example, the North American English version here).

However, if the PowerBook's hard disk does not contain an operating system at this point, a separate boot floppy will be needed. One can use the Network Access Disk 7.5 here for this.

    Addendum

Each downloaded System 7.5.3 .bin file (totally nineteen for the North American English version) is small enough to fit onto a 1.44 MB floppy, and can thus easily be transferred to the PowerBook from another computer. Keep the .bin intact until on the PowerBook. Once there, use StuffIt Expander for the decoding. Place the resulting decoded files (one .smi and eighteen .part) in one common folder on the hard disk. Double-click on the first (.smi) file; this will mount the total disk image. The installer will be found in the mounted image.

If you do not have StuffIt Expander for Macintosh:
Use a PC to download the MACDISK.EXE file here. Prepare an empty PC-formatted 1.44 MB HD diskette via FORMAT A: under DOS or the "full" formatting option under Windows (this is important). Run the MACDISK.EXE program on the PC. Follow the on-screen directions. The result will be a Mac-formatted(!) floppy disk containing a StuffIt Expander 4.0.1 installer.

For a bootable Network Access floppy:
With access to another semi-old Mac (with a built-in floppy drive), use Disk Copy 4.2 (the Make A Copy button) to make a sector-copied floppy from the downloaded disk image. If absolutely necessary, it is also possible to create a bootable floppy on a PC (please post back if further information about this is needed).
