Analog home cordless phone - sync phone book with Mac?

HELP! Someone out there has to make a cordless phone system for home use on an analog line that syncs at least a phone book with the Mac.

Anyone?

No... I am afraid the current state of "cordless" phones is aimed at K-Mart or Dollar Store shoppers when compared to cell phone technology. I have been looking years for a cordless that can do just two things my cell can do (bluetooth headset pairing and phone number import from Address Book), but connected to a land line. They don't exist. I guess phones designed for use without the $50-100/month contract are all based on 20th century technology.

The closest thing I have found is the Calisto Pro from Plantronics... although it is pricey ($250), only supports windoze at this time, and there are many reports the software is not all it could be (not a big surprise from a headset maker). But kudos to them for at least trying to make a higher tech cordless.

The only answer at this point is to put a scaled down version of windoze on your Mac and export to Outlook via vCards and then upload to the phone. I am guessing you don't really need syncing as who wants to enter names and phone number through the arcane interface of a cordless phone.

Thanks for your post. The Calisto has the bluetooth chipset in the handset. My understanding of the ATT unit is that it is in the base station (meaning that range is extremely limited even if you have the handset in your pocket). Is this indeed the case? If not, I have a couple of more questions:

Can you answer incoming land line calls directly from the bluetooth headset?

How simple is it to place a call with the handset and transfer to the headset?

Thanks for your input.

I just found the VTech IS6110 Combo DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with IM and QWERTY Keyboard Capabilities, described at http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/vtech-is6110-combo-dect-60-cordless-phone-with-i m-and-qwerty-keyboard-capabilities/ -- it looks close, at least.

Also, the AT&T EP5962 has Bluetooth (as do some others), so should be able to receive entries you send from your cell phone or Mac; so it should at least be possible to rig things up to sync to it.
