iPod touch xbox 360 connect

I can't connect my iPod touch to my xbox 360. It shows up as a digital camera but not anywhere in the music section. It is 1.1.3. Is there any way to do this? Thanks

This is the same for all game systems including Wii and PS3. Let Me put it this way:

All iPod and iPhone models will not work with these game systems because there isnt enough memory in the Wii to support a file as big as iTunes(maybe if you downloaded it to an SD card, but i doubt that will work). But for all of them, iTunes was built for Mac or Windows. Even though Xbox is made by Microsoft, it is not running Windows. It is running an operating system designed for Xbox. So for PS3, Wii, and 360, they are not running Windows or Mac, so all it will do is charge the device as long as its plugged in.

Got all that? Then I'm Outta Here!

That's not true Christian...

My 5G iPod Video has always worked on my 360 just as well as my 1G Zune does for playing music. The only thing that it doesn't play is anything that is protected (i.e. music bought from iTunes). All you have to do is plug it into the USB port, and I usually go through the little sidebar (when you hit the XboX symbol on your controller) and choose it through there. It even plays podcasts.

Now I haven't tried to use my Touch with my 360....But I just wanted to dispel what was said in this post about ALL MODELS not being able to do this, because that is just not true... 🙂

I forgot to add one thing...

If you have the songs encoded in AAC instead of MP3....you need to download the patch from this page onto your xbox360

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/digitalmedia/ipod.htm

like I said before....and like this link says....this only works with UNPROTECTED AAC files...xbox can't play DRM files that weren't purchased in the XboX Marketplace

hope I helped 🙂

the XBOX360 can only connect to ipods that have DISK MODE enabled such as 1-5.5G i would assume the Classic would work as well but i cannot test it

the iPod Touch and iPhone do NOT have a disk mode setting, I don't know why but it uses some super secret way of connecting to itunes that the 360 cannot recognize (yet) right now i would say that the proverbial "BALL" is in apples court and we will have to wait tell they let Microsoft in on their mystical secrets of connecting to an ipod touch/iphone

Although you can't connect your ipod touch to your 360. There is an application called 360Connect (I would give you a link but I'm on my touch). This application allows you to stream 100 songs, 5 movies, and 100 pictures for free. But if you buy it you can stream all your music, videos, pictures and podcasts to your xbox 360.

Note:
You cannot stream any protected content to your 360.
This application is only for mac and is $20 for the full application.
