iMac and Mouse A1152 - rapid clicking noise? Grounding issue?

June 2008

After browsing though all the posts on this board I cannot find an answer to the following question:

I have a new iMac and every day, after several hours of use the mouse makes a rapid clicking noise when I barely touch it. After trying it with another mouse (also a A1152) the same noise appears. This happens in different applications (i.e. Safari, Firefox) and I lose control of the programs as it sends series of unwanted rapid mouse clicks (cursor movements still work fine). If I restart the computer it will work fine for several hours. It also does not depend on the mouse pad (tried it with several) It almost appears as if the mouse sensitivity greatly increases after several hours of work. I read on another site this may be a grounding issue but can't find more info about this.

Any idea/suggestion how to solve this is welcome.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM

I had the same thing happening .. it is cause something is jammed in the mouse and makes the .. thing pop open where you can select what window to activate?? (pressing the 2 buttons on the side of the mouse) i think

Once I tried to crack open the mouse, but failed ( I got to open only the lower side of the mouse) and once I put it back together it was all ok ... I don't know...
