How do I turn off the gigantic glowing "Le Apple" logo on my Macbook

Perhaps I'm still a bit sensitive about advertising the fact that I paid 50% more for a mac over a comparable PC. Perhaps I'm worried that a thief will follow me out of the Internet cafe here in the third world to steal my mac because it has a cool lighted logo. Perhaps I want to save on battery life. Perhaps I hate being a walking talking billboard for a product without getting paid for it. Perhaps I'm just a crank. My motivations may be questionable but I really, sincerely hate having a giant glowing apple logo on my laptop. Is there a way to turn the logo light off other than covering it with duct tape? (Without voiding the warrantee.)

For those of you to young to get the "Le Apple" reference it's from an old "Zippy the Pinhead" cartoon where he thinks he's french and makes fun of a "Le Idiot" for driving a "Le Car" and providing free advertising. (a "Le Car" is/was a Renault ultra-sub-compact with "Le Car" written in big tacky letters on the door. you can google-image it.)

MacBook 2.4 - 4gb and lot's of external paraphernalia leftover from my PC days., Mac OS X (10.5.3), former VMS and UNIX bigot (CPM Forever!)
