How do I download a pre-ordered album?

I pre-ordered the Bon Jovi album "Have a Nice Day" a few days ago. How do I go about downloading it now that it has been released?

Open iTunes and select Advanced from the iTunes menu and click Check for Purchased Music.

I'm also trying to figure out how to download my Pre-Order

I did "check for Purchased Music" and got the message that all songs have been downloaded.

The Pre-Order is still in my acccount page, but with only the option to cancel.

Same here... i pre-ordered the new Disturbed album, and it was released today. Nothing has been downloaded, and "check for purchased" also returns nothing. The album is listed in my account pre-orders also, with only the option to cancel.

Kinda defeats the purpose of pre-ordering if I have to go thru this, dont ya think?

I don't know about the Disturbed album, but the Bon Jovi album has an extra song that you only get if you had Pre-Ordered.

So if I just go in and Buy it normally I'd lose out on the song. Which like bsic says "defeats the purpose".

Under normal conditions you will receive a mail informing you that your preorders are ready to dl - including an appropriate link.

Thanks Kay- so i guess we are not in normal conditions.

Either way, I will cancel the upcoming pre-orders i had. All pre-ordering did was force me to wait longer for the album, and give apple a heads up on revenue. Seems i got the short end of the stick.

I agree with you bsic. I will avoid Pre-Orders from now on.

But with the new Bon Jovi you get a bonus song, so that means I am just going to have to twiddle my thumbs until Apple is ready.

Wondering what your status is Aaron. Are you still waiting for the Pre-Order, or did you cancel, and just buy it normally?

If it were not for the bonus song I would canceled already.

Hi All -

When the pre-order is available, it will automatically be added to your download queue. If you haven't already done so, select Check for Purchased Music from the Advanced menu in iTunes.

Then, check your Purchased Music playlist to see if the album is there.

Depending on demand of the pre-order, it may take a little while to add the download to your queue. If it's not there right away, check back in an hour or so.

Still nothing. It says all songs have been downloaded, and they are not in my purchased section. It continues to show as a Pre-Order in my account.

It would be much faster to just buy it the day it's released. How a Pre-Order became a longer wait is funny.

I just checked the status and "All purchased music has been downloaded for this account." I also have the pre-order still listed on my account as "Expected Release Date: Sep 20, 2005". As of right now, my only option is to cancel the order, but I think I will wait a few more days. I pre-ordered this for my sister (only for the bonus song) and I am not meeting up with her until this coming weekend. I will see if maybe the Music Store is just running behind on the pre-order feature this time around.

This is the first problem I have had with the iTunes Music Store with hundreds of songs purchased.

I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the help and at least I now know what "normal" is.

Mine is the same. I'm going to wait until tomorrow afternoon before I cancel and just buy the album. This is also my first problem with the store.

Normally I would just cancel the Pre-Order and buy it normally, but Apple offered a Bonus Song that is not available without pre-ordering.

So I am hoping for that. If not, so be it. Kinda lame to have to wait though.

I pre-ordered the new Disturbed album for the extra song, video, and "digital booklet" whenever I check for purchased music, I get a message that says that "An unexpected error occurred (-51)" I've been getting this message since I had an interrupted download of The Offspring and it has yet to go away. I checked if I still had the album and it says that it's coming out on the 20th. Well, seeing as to how it's the 21st, little bit of a problem.
