Header Of Original Message When Replying

When replying and including the text of the original message, mail prefixes the body of the original message with:

On <date>, at <time>, <user> wrote:

Is there a way to get a short header automatically included so that recipients of my reply can easily see who the original message was distributed to?

This is the default behaviour of other mail clients that I use but I can't see an option anywhere to switch this on in Mail.

Thank you,

Ian

Ian,

I don't know a simple way to do this while using the Reply button. However, with the message you wish to reply to open, you click New Message, and then click Edit/Append Selected Messages the desired format will result.

If you start with Reply All, erase the standard inclusion and then Append you get the original distribution list, to which you can add others.
