iMac G3 won't recognize keyboard or mouse

I've got an old iMac G3 that I got second hand. It had no OS installed so I tried installing Tiger, but it doesn't seem to be recognizing my keyboard or mouse. They're the ones that come with the iMac ( hockey puck etc.) so I can't really do anything. But my biggest problem is that I cant press eject on the keyboard, nor can i hold down the mouse button to eject, so now my Tiger disc is stuck in the iMac and I sorta really need it back... Any suggestions?

Hey Mr Schnoobley,
Well try this:

The last part talks about the lower case which might have to come off to retrieve your disk. The final sollution is to pull the mass store cage and open up the CD-ROM. eMail me if you need intructions.

but it doesn't seem to be recognizing my keyboard or mouse.

Have you tried a different keyboard, USB port, go direct with the mouse?
I have yet to see an iMac with a bad USB driver. Usually if a USB port is bad it's fairly obvious since you can see the damage.

Yes I have tried different keyboards (second newest apple one, and the aluminum one, aswell as two windows keyboards) and a few different mice (mostly the standard MS optical one) and they dont work. I would really much rather try to fix the iMac than open it up just to retrieve the CD, and I do have a DVD copy of Tiger somewhere so I can use that in future, but I really prefer the CD...

I'm not really sure how much I can do since there is no OS installed.
