Vista 64 bit & BC 2.1

I'm going to install Vista 64 Ultimate on a New imac 24" , core 2 Duo 64. everything goes well with the bootcamp assist delivered by the OS.

After installation, some of the drivers needed to be installed using the bootcamp. but the drivers on the install disc 1 seems not to be compatible with the os.

I've downloaded and run BC2.1 on windows vista 64, but It just wants to run with the admin privileges and when accepted, nothing happens!! and it just waits and waits 😟

Any suggestions?

does the version below works with vista 64?

If you look around (search) you will find 64-bit BootCamp drivers are needed before you can use BC 2.1.

I can't understand a MacBook 2008 supporting 64-bit but not iMac, just doesn't make any logical rhyme or reason, it "just is" and I thought it was only temporary (would seem "any Mac with Penryn cpu chip" would suffice and be eligible, but apparently not.

Give those a shot, you should be up and running. Otherwise, its 'nuke what you have and downgrade to 32-bit world.

What you need would be x64 drivers from Mac Pro installation disc (Early 2008). Grab it from the internet, and burn it into CD (or put it into USB) for installation after installing the Vista 64 Ultimate. After all, install the BC 2.1 update and everything will work fine as what you have for a 32 bit Vista.

That's the way I have done for my new iMac 20" (Early 2008), and it should work pretty same for yours. 🙂
