My iPhone screen isn't working!

Well, recently my iPhone's screen just decided to not work, as in the touch functions do not work. The sleep/off button and home button work fine but I can't use the touch screen. So, please reply because I really want to go back to using it. Oh, and I recently went to Japan (and still am in), if that has anything to do with it.

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.3), Its awesome

Try the following :-

1. Press and Hold the Sleep/Off button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen (ignore the off slider if it appears, just keep the buttons pressed).

2. If that does not work then try connecting the iPhone to iTunes and do a software restore.

3. If that does not work it could be faulty hardware, so return the phone to an Apple Store.

I have a first generation iphone that all the sudden would not respond to any touch on the home screen, but would respond to powering off. It would also respond to the ipod play menu on the lock screen. Because my iphone is out of warranty I descide to get the 3g iphone and just my luck as soon as I go to play with my new toy it does not respond and when it does respond it does what it wants to. If i push settings it wants notes. I have to slide my finger up and to the right in the middle of the screen in order to turn the thing off. Hopefully my luck changes to good when I try to get them replaced.
