Reading the first part of the crash report it's fairly easy to get a high level view of what's going wrong (i.e. you know what happened in the kernel, and you can see which process the kernel sent a fatal signal to). Sometimes this is enough to correlate, for example, with a software update or new application install that might have lead to the problem. Often times it's not though.
Reading the rest of the crash report, with the execution stack, is much more difficult and best left to a kernel/filesystem developer (or someone familiar enough with whatever code is implicated).
