how can I access root?

It says
The folder "root" could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges.

as Bob said you can use sudo or you can give yourself rights to that folder or you can log in as root. However, as I said there is no reason to change anything there and in general you should be very careful with system folders you don't have access to. that's done for a very good reason and you can easily make your system inoperable by changing something there. Only do it if you are sure of what you are doing.

You can use the "sudo" or "su" commands anytime to access files on your computer. By default files and folders are locked to prevent editing that would lead to system malfunction. In addition, user home folders are set up so that only the user can access them, for privacy purposes. Administrators can gain access by providing credentials, but the default behavior is to only allow the owner open access. The home folder for root also has these same restrictions.
