How do I turn Spaces and Expose off?

Can anybody tell me how I can turn off Spaces and/or Expose? I find them intrusive and unnecessary to my style of using Mac and I'm getting a bit frustrated when it "swoops" into view every time I take a little pressure off my mouse.

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.3)

Spaces is easily turned off by going to System Preferences and clicking on the Exposè and Spaces section:

Click on the Spaces tab and uncheck the box next to "Enable Spaces."

Click on the Exposè tab and next to "All windows," "Application windows" and "Show Desktop," choose the dash "-" in each dropdown menu.

It sounds like you might have some unusual settings selected in those preferences panes? The defaults for the Exposè features are function keys (e.g. F9, F10, F11, etc.), not anything involving pressure on your mouse.

If you want to use Exposè but don't want it to be so easily invoked, choose options in those dropdown menus that aren't easily clicked by mistake. 🙂
