How do I change the iTunes receipt e-mail address?

How do I change the iTunes receipt e-mail address? I keep getting receipts at my old e-mail address but want to change it to a new e-mail address. I changed the login name to my new e-mail address but I guess that only changes the login name, not the actual e-mail address in Apple's database.

It's not as simple as that for everyone A Brody. It would be great if it was that easy.

People with .Mac accounts CANNOT change their email addresses in iTunes. The field simply won't allow it. I have changed my email address in my Apple ID a long time ago and it has never updated in iTunes. It has updated for other services just fine. But NOT iTunes.

I have been waiting for my .Mac account to finally expire. I had been told by a number of people on this forum that when .Mac finally expires (after the grace period) that iTunes will allow you to update your email address.

I anxiously await to see if that is true. I have another day or so.

This is a HUGE flaw in .Mac/iTunes usability. My buddy has never used a .Mac account and he can change his email adress at any time in his iTunes account. In my account however the field is completely locked. I CANNOT change it.

Here's hoping it is released in the next day or so.

Sounds like you have some extenuating issue that you can fill out the form at the bottom of this page to ask for help:

I got some help from iTunes support, and it seems to work.

If you have a .Mac iTunes account, and you want to change the email address:

First, change your primary email address at myinfo.apple.com.

Then:

"Due to an issue with the store, you must follow the instructions below to change your email address of record:

1. Verify that you have an active network connection and open iTunes.
2. Click “Music Store” from the Source list.
3. Click on the Account button in the upper right corner. The Account field will either display your iTunes Music Store Account ID or “Sign In.”
4. Enter the account name and password of the iTunes Music Store account.
5. Click “View Account”
6. On the Account Information page click “Edit Credit Card”
7. Re-enter your billing address information, adding a space at the end of your address. This will force the account to refresh and apply your new email address.

Please rest assured that we are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible."

Here's a new wrinkle in the problem I discovered.

My email address is correct in the Apple ID are for MyInfo.

https://myinfo.apple.com

If I log into my iTunes Music Store account (which is still locked to my old EXPIRED Dot Mac email address), and I try the credit card update trick, it does not update my email address in iTunes. That is still locked.

It DOES however update the email address in MyInfo!! TO THE OLD EXPIRED DOT FREAKIN' MAC ACCOUNT!! UGH!!!!!!!!

This is crazy! C'mon Apple/iTunes! Get your crap together!

I went back and manually changed MyInfo.

All I want to do is have the correct email address associated with my iTunes Music Store account. Why is this so hard to do?
