What are the signs that the burning of a CD or DVD has been compled?

As I type this, there is a very small sign in my dock flashing "ON AIR". I don't really understand all of the implications of this. Anyway, my questions are two: (1) What indications, if any, does Apple use to tell you that the iTunes Playlist has finished loading in preparation for the burning of a CD or DVD? (2) What indications are given that the burning process has been completed?

I'm pretty sure that my iTunes songs have already been burned into my DVD disc, but I may have missed the signs this time, and I want to be better prepared next time.

Oh, what does the flashing "ON Air" signify?

Whenever I burn a disc, it ejects when it is done.

My doesn't. Of course, it might have if I'd waited long enough. However, at some point, it says, "This might take as long as an hour," so I presume that it should be done within an hour. Actually, I think that the whole process takes less than an hour

I look forward to more input. I had three questions, and I'd like to know if everyone's computer always ejects when the CD/DVD is burned.

I don't know what the "On Air" message is about.

My CDs always eject when they are finished burning, and they never take more than a few minutes to burn.

Are you burning in iTunes or through Finder? When I burn in iTunes, I select a playlist in iTunes, choose Burn Playlist to Disc, when it prompts me to insert a disc, I put it in. When it's finished, it ejects the disc.

I'm using iTunes. Yesterday might have been special, since I burned 149 songs into both a CD-R and a DVD+R. I thought it might have been too much, so I only burned one song into a CD-R just now. Everything worked fine, EXCEPT that it didn't eject the disc. Apparently, what my computer does instead of ejecting the disc is to make a noise. PLUNK.

I appreciate your replies, but it might be helpful if someone else chimed in.
