Mp3 player compatibility!

NEED HELP URGENTLY!
I just bought a technika MP-308 mp3 player but it isn't compatible with my macbook.
the mp3 player turns on when I connect it, but the mac does nothing so i can't charge or put music on it. It also came with a driver disc but it is a mini-disc, and won't be read by mac.
I bought it in a hurry as I'm going away tomorrow. I could easily just take it back but I'm desperate to make it work, for travel entertainment.
Is there ANYTHING i can do to get the mac to accept it exists??

I know absolutely nothing about the technika player so I might not be much help. If you plug it in and open a Finder window do you see it mounted on the left of the window? Or if you open Disk Utility does DU see it and can you mount it?

If you can you should be able to drag your files over to it just like you can any USB mass storage device.

thanks, but its no good, the disk just isn't there. Not even in disk utility and i really thought that could work too haha, shame.

it seems your mac recognizes the drive, but not the volume... open disk utility and check... if you see a drive, but no volume, you could reformat the mp3-device with a new partition - unplug - plugin - hopefully get a fresh volume popping up on your desk.

haha well thanks, that doesn't work coz theres no drive at all.
i think i will have to give up on it, but nevermind :P

As I said I'm not familiar with your player (nor could I find out much about it). Most devices will work and they should act like a USB "key drive" or such. You wouldn't be able to use iTunes in most cases to manage your music but again it should be able to accept drag and drop files.

I wish I had more information about the player itself. I think if it were me I'd try a different brand 🙂
