Help! My wife has an Alpine CDA-9884 with the full speed cable Ipod cable and a 80GB Classic. Just recently, the search function stopped working. Especially when "ALL" is selected, then everything freezes, the Ipod stops playing and the Alpine shows an ERROR 01. I tried my own 80GB classic in her car stereo, and it works fine. I already tried the 5 Rs, I reset the Head Unit. Only thing I think is left is sending it in for warranty service. I think maybe something happened to the dock connector on the Ipod? Any ideas?
My 1st attempt at "restoring" i used a ghost image of the Ipod. That didn't work. I tried it a 2nd time and reloaded all the music from scratch. Hooked up to the Alpine, it seems to be working fine. Now if I could only do something about the weak LCD display that you can't see in the daytime.
Hi Rudy, did you manage to solve this porblem. I have the same thing happening, but it's happened all of a sudden. I've had the new car stereo for over a year and it works fine, then the other day I loaded some new music onto the ipod and created a new playlist and ever since then it plays for about 40 minutes then I get the error-01 message. I've tried resetting the ipod but nothing works. If you have the answer I'd apprecaite your help, thanks.
